Investing in Women’s new 2023 to 2027 phase has now commenced

Beginning July 1, 2023, Investing in Women (IW) will commence its new phase which builds on the results, partnerships, learnings, and credibility established under the first seven years of IW. The next phase of the program will continue to accelerate women’s economic empowerment in Southeast Asia through scaling activities and approaches.

We will continue to position women at the center of our work by recognising and strengthening their role in economic resilience and recovery. Our enhanced initiative will target the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, while also engaging at the regional level.

During its earlier phases Investing in Women has been focused on three workstreams – Workplace Gender Equality, Gender Lens Investing, and Influencing Gender Norms. Our next phase will also provide tangible and technical support for women’s economic empowerment by Enabling Policy Reform, with a focus on access to affordable, quality care.

Investing in Women’s achievements and accomplishments in the previous phases will inform the future strategic approach of the program. Through our country strategies, we will respond to the country-specific lessons, contextual drivers, and Australian and partner government priorities.
