The case study examines the efforts made by Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV) in carrying out a safe, engaged, and inclusive workplace. Published by the Philippine Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (PBCWE), it explores AEV’s efforts to enhance employee perception of WGE through online surveys, leadership forums, and improved training on WGE and sexual harassment, and to improve gender balance at the board level. It also highlighted AEV’s gender-sensitive policies in recruitment, performance appraisals, and performance metrics.
The case study identifies key factors that have driven change and improvements in workplace gender equality at AEV, including commitments to global initiatives (Sustainability, UN Compact, and ESG), sustained leadership, commitment, and accountability, providing trusted local technical support, and gender equality knowledge and skills development.
While there is progress made towards advancing WGE and DE&I, periodic team member surveys and consultations will be key in gaining further insight towards achieving gender pay equity in the company.
