Investing in Women (IW) is pleased to be working with ECUE and the Business Studies & Assistance (BSA) Center to drive workplace gender equality (WGE) initiatives in Vietnam.
While Vietnam has made strides in advancing WGE, with a robust legal framework and growing interest from the private sector, challenges remain. Many businesses still struggle to implement effective WGE strategies due to a lack of suitable tools and services for assessing progress and driving actionable commitments.
To address this gap, IW, ECUE and BSA are teaming up to enhance private sector commitment to WGE. Their collaboration will include the Gender Equality Assessment, Results, and Strategies (GEARS) assessment tool, developed specifically for the ASEAN market in partnership with regional Business Coalitions and Australia’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). GEARS provides businesses with comprehensive assessments and practical recommendations to improve their WGE policies, make informed decisions, and achieve their goals.
By engaging directly with senior leaders in Vietnamese private sector organisations, ECUE and BSA will champion the business case for WGE and accelerate change. This partnership will also work to influence the regulatory and compliance landscape for WGE, including interactions with standard setters and regulators.
The consortium combines the strengths of ECUE and BSA: ECUE brings expertise in research, training, coaching and sustainable workplace practices, while BSA offers a broad network of businesses and experience in high-impact trade and business initiatives.
An Australian Government initiative, Investing in Women supports organisations that work with influential businesses on shifting workplace cultures, practices and policies to achieve workplace gender equality in Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam.
