In an interview with Rico Hizon on CNN Philippines’ The Final Word, His Excellency Steven J. Robinson AO, Australian Ambassador to the Philippines and Benilda Ronquillo-Camba, board member and corporate secretary at InBestCap Ventures, a partner of Investing in Women (IW), talked about the Macquarie-IW RISE Fund.
Officially launched in November, the Fund offsets COVID-19 impacts on women-owned and women-led businesses and provides much needed liquidity in a capital-constrained market.
“In terms of job creation, the Fund targets to generate a total of 200 stable direct jobs for the Macquarie-Investing in Women RISE Fund, but we’re targeting an aggregate total amount of 500 jobs coming from suppliers within the supply chain,” said Ronquillo-Camba.
The Ambassador highlighted Australia’s commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s economic empowerment—the focus of Investing in Women in South East Asia.
