When Women Invest: Investor Profiles from Southeast Asia

Gender Lens Investing

Summary

These case studies highlight how private capital fund managers active in Southeast Asia are incorporating gender into their investment decision-making and investment management processes. Concrete examples from their portfolios showcase how smart investment approaches can help drive women’s economic empowerment across the region.

These case studies are developed by Global Private Capital Association (GPCA) in partnership with Investing in Women (IW), in their joint effort to advance gender lens investing (GLI) among capital providers and fund managers in Southeast Asia. Through research, peer-to-peer learning, executive workshops and expanded networking opportunities, the partnership seeks to increase the adoption of GLI among both mainstream and impact investors.

To raise visibility of women investors deploying private capital in the region, in 2024, GPCA in partnership with IW also launched the Southeast Asia Women Investors Directory, the first of its kind in the region.

These case studies are originally published in the GPCA website. Related case studies on women entrepreneurs were also published by GPCA.
