The information is based on studies commissioned by Investing in Women (IW) that have been analyzing the impact investing landscape in the region since 2007. The data includes investments made by Private Impact Investors (PIIs) such as fund managers, family offices, and foundations, as well as Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) that are government-backed financial institutions supporting development-focused investments.

Indonesia leads the region in deal volume with a 50% growth, driven by impact entrepreneurs and private impact investors (PIIs). Vietnam experienced a 60% growth in deal value, becoming the largest market for impact investment, predominantly through deals with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs). The Philippines witnessed increased activity from local PIIs, focusing on smaller deals. DFIs mainly invested in financial services and energy sectors, while PIIs focused on financial services, ICT, healthcare, energy, and agriculture, with ICT leading in deal volume.
