When Women Lead: Entrepreneurial Case Studies from Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia

Gender Lens Investing, Women in Business

Summary

These case studies highlight partnerships between private capital and women-led businesses in Southeast Asia, exploring their strengths, innovations and successes.

They delve into the entrepreneurial journeys of women and their strategies for navigating the male-dominated tech sector. Drawing on the experiences of women at both the early and growth stages of their businesses, they explore reasons and considerations behind womenโ€™s choices in selecting the right investment partners. Additionally, they emphasize the efforts of these women entrepreneurs to promote gender equality within their own organizations.

The case studies also illustrate the motivations behind investorsโ€™ adoption of gender lens investing (GLI). They outline the perceived benefits of GLI, including fostering sustainable development, improved risk and opportunity assessments, and ultimately, better financial returns.

This document is developed by Global Private Capital Association (GCPA) with support from Investing in Women. It is originally published in the GCPA website.
